BFCL is a
thirty-six hour program that provides active participation in sessions dealing with
the personal and professional skill needed to coordinate a parish religious
education program. There will be opportunities for prayer and reflection as
well as time to network with other catechetical leaders. Heritage tables are
prepared by each participant, which gives them an opportunity to get in touch
with their own cultural roots. As they listen to the stories of the other
participants their sensitivity to different cultures and customs is raised.
Those discerning a call
to ministry as a Catechetical Leader
Entrance Criteria: presently
involved in the ministry of catechesis with a willingness to complete all
sessions, assignments and activities. A letter of recommendation from the
pastor and a person who knows the applicant well is also needed.
